Learning Coaches are skilled professionals who are listeners of learners. Their purpose is not solely to teach but to stand as keen facilitators to identify initiatives which enable our children’s voices to be heard in their quest to understand who they are through what they do. Through this process, learning coaches develop the Key Competencies and introduce the NZ Curriculum as a tool to communicate ideas. The Curriculum becomes a by-product rather than something to be specifically assigned and taught. Identifying this learning is easily captured by the software platform we use.
Learning Coaches also find experts in the community who expand learners’ knowledge and bring wisdom, inspiration and experience to topics the students engage with.
The job of the learning coach is to masterfully utilise the NZ Curriculum subjects to develop and enhance academic disciplines acquired through its use in an atmosphere of curiosity.
